On November 17, 2025, Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) organized and hosted a welcome event for the first group of participants of the Global Conference joining the institution under the K171 Erasmus+ Programme. The initiative marked an important milestone for URJC, as it reinforces the university’s commitment to international cooperation, academic mobility, and the exchange of knowledge across higher education institutions worldwide.
The event brought together delegates and academic representatives from fifteen international universities, including institutions from Mozambique, South Africa, China or Chile, and other partner countries collaborating within the Erasmus+ framework. Their participation reflects the strategic role of the K171 programme in strengthening links with non-EU countries and promoting inclusive and diverse learning environments.
The day began with an official reception and welcome session, where participants were introduced to the university’s structure, academic philosophy, and internationalization strategy. Attendees were then invited to join an overview of the university’s multiple campuses, degree programs, research areas, and student support services, allowing guests to better understand the educational opportunities available at URJC.
After the presentation, the event continued with a session dedicated to presenting the EULIST Alliance. During this presentation, organizers highlighted the mission, values, and long-term objectives of the alliance, as well as the role of the ten universities that currently form part of EULIST.
The event concluded with an overview of the EULIST Global Conference, which the K171 delegation is scheduled to attend starting on November 19, 2025. This upcoming conference will allow representatives to engage in strategic discussions, explore new international cooperation opportunities, and strengthen their contribution to the future of the alliance.
With this welcoming event, Rey Juan Carlos University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering international dialogue, academic excellence, and collaborative learning, while celebrating the beginning of a new stage of exchange and cooperation through the Erasmus+ K171 Programme.
