A delegation from the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), headed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, has visited the University of L’Aquila (UnivAQ) in Italy with the aim of meeting their counterparts and assessing opportunities for collaboration in the fields of teaching and research. The delegation included the Director of Projects and International Relations and Chair of EULiST Management Board, Pablo Tomás Salvadores, as well as the EULiST Local Coordinator, Juan Manuel García, together with deans, school directors and other representatives of the URJC centres. This meeting is part of the EULiST project, an alliance of European universities that, among its objectives, promotes academic exchange and cooperation between its members.
The visit, which lasted two days, was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UnivAQ, Edoardo Alesse, and the General Director, Pietro Di Benedetto. In addition, the presentation of the Italian university was attended by Bruno Rubino, Vice-Rector for International Affairs; Alessandra Continenza, Vice-Rector for Teaching; and Maria Benedetta Mattei, Vice-Rector for Research, together with representatives of the seven academic departments of the University. During the bilateral meetings, the teams from both universities discussed possible areas of cooperation in teaching and research projects, with the aim of establishing a long-term collaboration.
This meeting has not only served to strengthen the ties between the URJC and the UnivAQ, but also to advance the consolidation of future joint initiatives within the framework of EULiST. Both universities have highlighted the value of this type of exchange, which promotes academic excellence and innovation through international cooperation. The leaders of both institutions underlined the importance of continuing to strengthen the alliance, with a view to generating new opportunities for collaboration for the entire university community.
