The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) participated in the EULiST Matchmaking Event, held on 3–4 December 2025 at Jönköping University (JU), Sweden. This two-day, in-person gathering, organized in collaboration with Crowdhelix, was dedicated to preparing for the 2026–2027 work programmes under Horizon Europe.
The event brought together stakeholders from academia, industry, SMEs and the public sector, aiming to foster cross-sector strategic connections around thematic areas aligned with EULiST’s mission of linking society and technology. URJC’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthen European cooperation in research, innovation and societal engagement.
“The event was a great success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable support of my wonderful colleagues. However, the real work begins now, in the post-event phase. As the hard work begins, I hope the event significantly boosted our efforts in submitting competitive Horizon Europe applications, with JU involved in as many as possible”, says Shira B., senior grants advisor at the International Office at JU.
For URJC, participation in this Matchmaking Event provides a key opportunity to explore new international collaborations, align its research and innovation agenda with Horizon Europe priorities, and expand its network across European academic and industrial partners. The collaboration underscores URJC’s ambition to contribute actively to the evolving European Higher Education area through the EULiST alliance.
As EULiST continues to foster a pan-European academic ecosystem, the connections and projects emerging from this 2025 JU event are expected to strengthen solidarity, knowledge exchange and sustainable innovation among European institutions and stakeholders — reinforcing URJC’s role as a central actor in these efforts.
