Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) hosted a significant visit from the delegation of Università degli Studi dell’Aquila (UnivAQ) on February 26ᵗʰ and 27ᵗʰ, 2025, as part of the EULiST Alliance. This meeting marked an important milestone in international collaboration between the two institutions.

The Italian delegation consisted of 20 professors and staff members, led by Bruno Rubino, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Alessandra Continenza, Vice-Rector for Teaching. This high-level representation underscored the importance of the visit and the commitment to strengthening ties between URJC and UnivAQ.

 

The two-day event featured intensive working sessions that resulted in substantial advances for the alliance. The program included:

  • Presentations by UnivAQ and URJC.
  • Parallel meetings across different URJC campuses (Móstoles, Alcorcón, and Fuenlabrada).
  • Cross Meeting and Pending Meetings.
  • Tours of key facilities including the library, Technology Support Center (CAT), and the Academic Content Production Unit (UPCA).

The event was attended by prominent figures from both institutions:

  • Javier Ramos, Rector of Rey Juan Carlos University
  • María Luisa Humanes Humanes, Vice-Rector for International Relations and WP5 leader
  • Pablo T. Salvadores Alonso, Chair of the EULiST Management Board
  • Juan Manuel García Camús, EULiST Local Coordinator
  • Bruno Rubino, Vice-Rector for International Affairs.
  • Alessandra Continenza, Vice-Rector for Teaching.

The teams discussed and agreed on new initiatives in key areas such as education, research, outreach activities. The main focus was on addressing the challenges of tomorrow from diverse European perspectives.

This visit not only served to strengthen academic ties but also fostered a deeper cultural understanding between the institutions. The Italian representatives had the opportunity to experience firsthand the facilities and resources of URJC.

The delegations from both universities held intense working meetings that resulted in substantial progress for the alliance.
