Jönköping University, a member of the EULiST University Alliance, to which the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) belongs, has visited our institution with the aim of strengthening collaboration in various fields between both universities and also within EULiST.
The delegation, consisting of 15 representatives from Jönköping University, was led by its President, Professor Agneta Marell, who was welcomed by Rector Javier Ramos, who led the URJC representation. In addition to the EULiST participants, led by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, members of different vice-rectorships, faculties and schools of the URJC also took part.
During the morning, our Swedish partners had the opportunity to get to know the Faculty of Health Sciences, which was presented in detail by its Dean, Professor Carlos Goicoechea. Afterwards, they were received by the director of the University Clinic, where they visited the facilities and laboratories. Simultaneously, parallel meetings were held with representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences, the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Transfer, as well as the Vice-Rectorate for Digital Transformation and Education and the Information Technologies Area.
In the afternoon, the delegation travelled to the Fuenlabrada Campus from URJC, where they had the opportunity to visit Laboratory VI at the Fuenlabrada School of Engineering and Laboratory 1, which includes the sets and radio studios of the Faculty of Communication Sciences. Parallel meetings were also held with representatives of the Faculty of Education and Sport Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as the International Doctoral School.
In words of the two rectors, this visit has not only strengthened the bond between Jönköping University and the URJC, but has also laid the foundations for future collaborations within the EULiST Alliance in the academic and research fields, which will allow all members of the university communities to achieve excellence.
Jönköping University is a young university characterised by close cooperation with business and society, as well as a high degree of internationalisation. It has about 11.000 students, of which 1.960 are international students. This university is one of the best universities in terms of international student exchange and attracting international students. It is organised into four centres: the School of Health and Welfare, the School of Education and Communication, the Jönköping International Business School and the School of Engineering.
