Last week a working breakfast, chaired by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, was held with ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps of the countries that have a university within the EULiST European University Alliance.

The aim of the meeting was to study the opportunities and challenges of this European Commission initiative and how EULiST actions can be implemented in the 10 countries of the Alliance, with the collaboration of the embassies.

The meeting was attended by Enno Dofrenik, Ambassador of Austria in the Kingdom of Spain, the Ambassador of Finland, Sari Rautio and the Ambassador of Slovakia, Juraj Tomaga, as well as the First Counsellor of the Embassy of Greece, Petros Tsarouchis and the Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation of the Embassy of France, Christelle Grouzis.

The Vice-Rector for International Relations presented the Rey Juan Carlos University and its commitment to internationalisation and the efforts made to bring research and innovation closer to society.

Afterwards, Pablo Salvadores, Director of Internationalisation of the URJC and current Chair of the EULiST Management Board, presented the European Universities Initiative and the EULiST Alliance, emphasising its development, the activity carried out and the first results obtained, as well as the upcoming plans for the development of joint research and future opportunities for the 200,000 students who are part of EULiST through the 10 universities that make it up.

The attending ambassadors and members of the different embassies expressed their interest in collaborating with EULiST, and praised the work carried out, as well as the success of the initiatives implemented.
